Hurtigruten Cruises

Hurtigruten was established in 1893 when Captain Richard With charted out a safe route and started a regular steamer service along the coast of Norway. He called this important connection between the North & the South ‘Hurtigruten’ (which means the fast route).

Today, these ships are still an integral part of Norwegian coastal life and Hurtigruten captains use their extensive maritime expertise to ensure that freight and passengers are carried safely from port to port.

Their cruises are really expedition voyages with well -trained nature & destination specialists on board. The comfortable but stylish ships do not have many of the typical cruise line features such as casinos, live shows, etc. On Hurtigruten's voyages Nature is the main attraction, and guests are enthralled by spectacular scenery and local communities & enjoy interacting with fellow travelers.
